Ilocos Weekend Trip [Part IV]: Baluarte Zoo

Image
🌹 animals share with us the privilege of having a soul. 🌹 The last one is, Baluarte Zoo. The owner of this zoo is Chavit Singson. He described it as a wildlife sanctuary. The facility was designed and developed by Singson himself. This is our last stop of our Ilocos trip. Funny thing is that after Cape Bojeador Lighthouse, we had to stay the night at Vigan's. I realized that there is drawback in not planning things. Hehez. We were not prepared and it was hard to find a place to stay-in. If this trip was planned then we would have booked a hotel or an inn. Yikes! In the end, thank goodness we were able to find an affordable and decent place to stay at.  Chickens randomly roaming around. After this, we went back home to Pangasinan. It was a beautiful trip. I had a lot of realizations, and self-reflection moments. I'm more mesmerized by the nature, our kababyans' and most specially the food. 'Till next time, Ilocos! Love, East. ...

Ilocos Weekend Trip [Part III]: Cape Bojeador Lighthouse

Image
🌹 old but gold 🌹 3rd stop is the Cape Bojeador Lighthouse. It was established during the Spanish Colonial period here in the Philippines. Approximately 30 minutes of travel time from Bangui to Burgos. It was exhausting yet it was fulfilling at the same time! I felt the same feeling when we were in Bangui because I only see this lighthouse in TV. It was surreal. I was kinda interested what was inside this lighthouse too. We went here, it's already quarter to 6 pm, I guess. So, it's just a quick stop. So that, we can able to go home quickly before the dusk. Breathtaking view outside Cape Bojeador Lighthouse One of the bedrooms inside Cape Bojeador Lighthouse me looking at the beautiful horizon Love, East.

Ilocos Weekend Trip [Part II]: Bangui Windmills

Image
🌹 move with the wind 🌹    This is the second part of the Ilocos weekend trip. Next up is the Bangui Windmills. So from, Vigan City, let's say that we had approximately 2 hours of travel time to get to Laoag City (we also spotted the Sinking Bell Tower but we were not able to do a stop-over. Sad) and I guess a half-hour travel time to Bangui Windmills.  Alas! I was able to see these windmills in real life! I'm just seeing these windmills in TV but now, WOW! I was able to see these windmills up close! It was nice to see the view and to be able to feel the nice cooling air. There were many people but still it was a fun experience for me. More photos: Stay tune for Part III and IV! Love, East.

Ilocos Weekend Trip [Part I]: Vigan City

Image
🌹 i am just a vintage soul. 🌹 It was 9 in the evening when my mom suddenly entered my room and told me we're going to Ilocos at 3 freakin am in the morning. I'm telling you, we really are impulsive in these kind of situations. I don't know what to do, especially there is little prep time for me. But thank goodness I was able to put myself together and had time to sleep a little bit. Who am I kidding? I didn't sleep because I was so excited! Welp! Vigan City is one of the famous tourist spots in the Philippines. It is famed because of the beautiful streets and the delicious food. Calle Crisologo is the most visited street because of it perfectly preserves the livelihood of the Hispanic Colonial Era. It was one of the beautiful places I've been to. Especially for me because I love vintage stuffs/structures. I love the fact that it is  preserved and it actually lasts for a long time. I love the fact that the future generation will also see this ...

Fall In Love with Bolinao Falls

Image
🌹 let's fall in love and never look back. 🌹 (Falls 1) It was the second day of January when we went here, time to celebrate the year 2017! Actually my relatives went here already but I was not able to come due to some errands I had to do. Anyways, let us start to explore and be ready to fall in love with Bolinao Falls! Bolinao is known for its premier beach destination: Patar. But if you're tired of sand and the taste of seawater then Bolinao falls is for you! It has 3 sections: Falls 1. Falls 2 & Falls 3. fun story: Along the way, we really don't know where to go. We don't really plan things out as I mentioned before. So, the idea of coming to this place was so sudden. We actually decided to go there the moment we saw the signage implying Bolinao Falls [to the left].When we got there I don't know why but I felt dizzy and my stomach was twirling. It was really hard for me. Suddenly, I puked (I was so embarrassed lmao) and surprisingly I was alr...

Minalungao: Hidden Beauty

Image
🌹 the best days are unplanned, random & spontaneous! 🌹 My family likes sudden trips. The unplanned trips are usually the best than the planned ones. So, this is one of our travels that is totally unexpected. My uncle, (who by the way, is fond of going to places that he thinks is hip and cool AND that is trending in social media) goes like "Hey, let's go to this place, I think this place is cool." And my aunt and mother says like "Okay, right now? Uncle replied "Yes, right now." This dialogue is pretty much the backstory of every travels we had. So yeah, we are the "Biglaan Squad." So expect that this blog will be pretty much random and does not relate with each other. Planning? Never happened. This place is called Minalungao National Park, it is located at General Tinio, Nueva Ecija. So from Pangasinan we had a 3-hour long ride by means of car. Funny thing is that we got lost on our way. Usually, I'm asleep when it comes to ...
